(By Tom Lohnes) – Well the near-2,000 horsepower AWD, electric, Japanese hypercar is finally is here, and it isn’t a limited edition.
The Aspark Owl is the company’s first vehicle, and they went quite ambitious, considering this car is rated by the manufacturer to make 60 miles per hour in 1.72 seconds while having a sub-nine second quarter mile at above 150 mph. Top speed is around 250 and 0-100 is a staggering 3.9 seconds If these numbers come out to be true, the Owl will be shot into the record books for many reasons, quickest factory quarter mile being one of them.
Outside, the Owl looks as if a Toyota Prius was hit on the head with an anvil, with its low sleek look. Once you enter through the Mclaren-like doors you’ll find a supple interior befitted with only the finest materials that could be found in Japan. Cargo space is not an issue because where the engine would be in a gas-powered hypercar lies a cavernous trunk. Range is supposed to be above 200 miles but it probably won’t be anything near that with those acceleration stats.
Pricing for the Owl will be around $1.5 Million, which is a boatload of money but considering the performance potential of this vehicle you are getting what you paid for.
Like an owl…does it “barf” you out of the driver’s seat when you’re finished driving? One might be a little shaky.
Who gives a hoot.
Those seats!
Probably designed to maintain blood flow to the legs while under the F-16 like G’s.
