We have been talking at you about the importance of proper instruments in your street and race car since, oh, the second day BangShift existed we think. This video which highlights the install of AutoMeter Extreme Environment gauges in a dirt late model is cool because our pal Joseph Mills hosts it and not only gives details about what the gauges are and how they work well in tough environments like dirt track racing, off road racing, and other places where vibration and potential contamination of the environment is possible.
The double win here is also getting a look at a really bad ass dirt late model. Having recently gotten an education in dirt racing I can tell you that these cars are fascinating machines in an unto themselves. The result of decades of fender banging refinement, today’s dirt race cars are among the most advanced in any form of racing. Don’t let the surface fool you.
