Finishing Up The Tube Core Support, Front End Mounts, And Radiator Mount On The Mongrel

Finishing Up The Tube Core Support, Front End Mounts, And Radiator Mount On The Mongrel

This little beast just keeps on moving forward! Once again I’m impressed with the fabrication and simple approach to keeping things clean, functional, and serviceable on this cool little track car. We’ve already gotten a lot of good ideas from this build, and love how UrchFab finds and uses simple solutions to common problems. The tube structure made to hold the front of the fenders, grill, and radiator might be simple, but it looks great and will be more than enough on the front of this little ride. We dig it.

In the grand scheme of things, this front structure was made with just a couple simple bends and some straight tubing. Sure he’s got a cool CNC Plasma Table to cut tabs and such, but they aren’t anything you can’t make at home with a cutoff wheel or band saw, or that you can’t find at your local steel supply. With that said, I still would LOVE to have one of these CNC Plasma Tables. Wouldn’t you? We’ll work on getting one of them in our shop at some point, but in the meantime we get by with grinders and a drill press.

Take a look at the video, and see what you think. We’re going to use some of the ideas here to help us build the front end under the LUV truck we’re building and that should be fun as hell.
