The Mongrel Project’s Paint Job Is Finished! Now Its Time To Put It Back Together!

The Mongrel Project’s Paint Job Is Finished! Now Its Time To Put It Back Together!

We’ve been following along as Urchfab put together the Mongrel, an English Ford 100 on a MX5 Miata chassis, and have been truly inspired and entertained. We really do like this thing and love the look at feel. The color that Matt chose is also pretty cool and makes me happy as well. One thing about painting this car that has been equally as inspiring is the fact that Matt is not a body and paint guy so as he’s been learning, and having some issues, he’s shared them so that everyone of us following the project can learn as well. But now it’s done! Yep, smooth and pretty and ready to get put back together.

In this video Matt shows the final paint going on, the finished product, and starts assembling some of the glass. It’s coming along and we can’t wait to see it all finished.

On place where the project hit a snag was in the wheel department, when Matt found clearance issues with the brakes. While he hasn’t decided on the final replacement wheel, he did get some cool steelies to bolt onto it now, and we think they look pretty rad.

We’ll keep you posted as the project comes to fruition, because we can’t wait to see it all bolted together and then out on track.
