QA1’s triangulated 4-link system is a performance-driven upgrade for F-body and X-
body owners seeking to replace their outdated leaf springs and deliver modern, refined
handling and comfort. By replacing the outdated leaf springs and switching to coilovers
and a tubular 4-link, owners of 1967-69 and 1970-81 Camaros and Firebirds, as well as
1968-72 Nova gain significant improvements in handling, ride quality, and stance
adjustability. The system offers +2 to -3 inches of ride height adjustment, allowing users
to fine-tune the stance of their vehicle, whether for street or track use.

“We set out to develop an affordable system with both ride height and wheelbase
adjustment that removes the factory leaf springs and associated wheel hop issues they
present,” explains QA1 Engineering Manager Dave Knauff. Product Manager Jesse
Cowles echoes that sentiment regarding the factory leaf springs, adding “The limitations
of the original leaf spring suspensions not only hinder the performance and ride quality
of these cars, but also limits the owner’s ability to customize the stance. Our 4-link
systems provide a comprehensive solution to each of these issues by delivering precise
control over ride height, ride quality, and handling, all while accommodating wide wheel
and tire combinations.”
The triangulated 4-link design enhances handling and stability by delivering better
control compared to the stock leaf spring setup. QA1’s adjustable coilover shocks allow
for control over rebound and compression, giving the user more precise tuning
capabilities for different driving scenarios. This makes the system highly adaptable for
both daily driving and high-performance applications without compromising comfort.
A standout feature of this upgrade is its ability to accommodate wider wheels and tires.
The kits is designed to work with both standard and mini-tub setups, ands this flexibility
opens up possibilities for more aggressive tire setups and better traction.
“The QA1 4-link systems for the F- and X-body cars provide a huge improvement in ride
quality, and allow for ride height adjustment to set the car’s stance just right,” says QA1
Product Manager Damien Brase.
Installation is designed to be as straightforward as possible, requiring minimal welding
and no modifications to the floor pan. Once installed, adjustments to ride height, pinion
angle, or wheelbase can be made easily without needing to remove any links. This
user-friendly design makes setup and ongoing adjustments simple. QA1 provides a
spanner wrench for adjusting the coilovers, further simplifying the process.

“We set out to develop an affordable system with both ride height and wheelbase
adjustment that removes the factory leaf springs and associated wheel hop issues they
present. We also designed the subframe connectors using proprietary tubing for
increased stiffness and ground clearance. Extensive body mount research and testing
was done to ensure proper mounts for all of the models and years of GM vehicles, to
ensure they fit every vehicle that they are advertised to fit. I d put our mount kit up
against anything on the market.”
