A Short Strange Trip: Watch The Hagerty Buick Straight Eight Go From The Engine Stand To The Run Stand – Not Easy

Some jobs are quicker and easier than others, right? In this case the job of moving the fully built and dressed Buick Straight Eight that we have been following on the Hagerty YouTube Channel from the engine stand to the run stand is highlighted. Plunking a small block or other V8 engine off an engine stand and onto a run stand is usually just as hard as removing the carb, adding a lift plate and hoisting away. No so much for an 800lb massive old Buick engine.

Davin walks us through the process of figuring out his lift points and method and then walks us through the process of actually bolting the engine to the stand and making it all fit. Again, a lot more difficult than doing it with a little V8. Patience, planning, and a carful approach make this a good study in how to get the job done and not a study in how to plunk a massive engine onto the floor.

No, the fire up does not come at the end. That will be later this week!
