Turn Him Loose: Here’s What You Get When A Car Crazed 14 Year Old Runs The Gamut On The Cadillac Blackwing Configurator

(By Tom Lohnes) – So the configurator for the Cadillac Blackwing brothers is out now and here’s how I would spec the little brother, the CT4-V Blackwing

Starting with the CT4, I’m really not holding back on options here, so this thing is going to be costly. First, my transmission choice. For the CT4 Blackwing, I will be hooking the 472-hp Twin-turbocharged V6 up to the standard 6-speed manual transmission, because why wouldn’t you? Next, to colors. Cadillac of all companies, is actually offering some very bright colors on these things, and I like bright colors so I chose the optional Electric blue color that is a $625 premium over the base black or white.

For my interior, I chose the Jet-black quilted leather with white accents that is part of the $5,500 premium interior package. Inside now, I selected the $4,350 Carbon Fiber 1 package, to add some flair. I also selected the technology package, Climate package, and Interior protection package. Back to the outside, I’m trading the two-tone base wheels for the same ones just painted black, adding $600 to my final price. Then, I choose the $595 blue brake calipers to compliment the paint job. For additional options, I select the sueded microfiber steering wheel and shift knob, just because. And then, my spec is finished.

With nearly every option selected, my CT4 is $77,370, just about $20,000 over the base price. Things add up quick, but it really isn’t bad money compared to the BMW M3 or any other European competitor. How would you spec your CT4? I’m going to guess the paint I chose won’t be a popular option.

Well Tom….start saving your $$. Trouble is, by the time you’ve saved enough it will be x2.
