The Mallet Performance Widebody Colorado Is A 700hp, Blown, Small Truck From Hell

(By Tom Lohnes) – The new 800 horsepower Yenko-tuned Chevy Silverado 1500 is awesome with its supercharged V8 and 8-speed automatic, as well as it’s 3.8-second 0-60 time. But what if you have a thing for smaller trucks? Well, Mallet performance has you covered with this 700 horsepower widebody Colorado.

Powered by the same 3.6-liter V6 it came from factory with, this small Chevy is fitted with a 1.5-liter supercharger and some upgraded internals to run 700-wheel horsepower. The transmission of choice for this beast is GM’s 10-speed automatic that delivers quick shifts and questionable longevity.

Power is routed through a custom full-time AWD system made by the people at Mallet. All of this combined propels this lowered truck to 60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds. For reference, the $500,000 Ford GT claims 60 in 3.1 seconds, so this thing is basically completely insane. Top speed is a mind blowing 155 miles per hour and supercharger whine is ever-present in the cabin while accelerating. Suspension is dropped 5 inches from factory settings, and massive fender flares and a ducktail spoiler are fitted to help with aerodynamics.

So, this thing costs a lot. On top of your normal V6 Colorado, this kit is $22,000. Good luck finding one.
