Avert Your Eyes Ford Guys! This Dude Mashed Up A 1967 Mustang And A C5 Corvette – Video Q&A About Car

(Photo credit: @MustangKyle Instagram page) – There are certain projects that come along and they inspires a smile for some and complete and utter hatred from others. We’re reasonably open minded in these parts and while this car is not one we would build ourselves we’re kind of glad someone did. Yes, this guy mashed up a 1967 Mustang and a C5 Corvette in the most dramatic looking way possible, The Corvette maintains its stock track width and the Mustang body has been effectively chopped up to drop down on top of it like a mask, creating a look the likes of which we have not really seen before. It is reminiscent of the Hooniverse Hoonicorn but evermore dramatic.

Why would someone do this? Why does anyone do anything with cars? Because it is fun and creative and interesting and did we mention fun? You’ll actually get a better perspective on the car and on the builder in the video below. This is a Q&A video about the whole thing and it’ll give you answers to some of the questions you have to be asking.

This car is cool, we’d drive it!

OK jumping in ahead of Geordie here – I love it – it embodies what traditional hot rodding is all about. Yeah, yeah, Geordie will hate it cos it has an LS yes, we get it, for some odd reason a dude in England that’s probably never actually driven or even seen an LS (yet likes other GM cars on more than one occasion..) hates them. Don’t really care, I don’t think of him as a car head anyway. Sorry Geordie, truth hurts mate.

Nobody cares what Geordie thinks anyway. We all just skip over his comments and don’t read them.

      Yeah no kidding.

CHMG is part of the color of the place, lol…it wouldn’t be the same without him..

For a builder with stated and apparent limited experience that’s a pretty brave project. Shows you what you can try when your shop equipment includes a forklift.

I used to think the same thing when the LS came out, then 8 years ago I bought one (99 Z28). I’m a convert. And proud of it.

Don’t get me wrong… I don’t hate the LS engine… Heck I talked my buddy out of building a 383 for his 89 IROC to swap a 6.0LS instead… He’s very happy with the outcome.. I just don’t like them swapped into everything under the sun… Its the same story, rinse and repeat… boring!!

I don’t care if it had a Alan Johnson hemi in it, that thing would still be a hacked up pile….I’ll pass….

Swap a Ford motor into this as this is the most bad assed Mustang I have ever seen! Just give it a coat of satin black and use it for scaring the hordes of annoying trick or treaters,

But I am a car head or why would I look at this site, have read Hot Rod Magazine for nearly 60 years, have owned and driven American cars and hot rods and am one of the few people in my home town who knows what a cursed Loathsome Slug is…

OK I’ll bite, and i’ve asked this question before – what don’t you like about them? Compact modern motor that goes like hell – maybe why there are so many around….this’ll piss you off – my XB Falcon coupe has a 351C and 4 speed – if and when it gives up the ghost guess what motor I’m considering?

I dig it and I have never liked Mustangs. I would love to do something similar with a Gremlin body dropped on top of a retired NASCAR chassis. I guess I better start saving up for a fork lift while I\’m still young enough to climb into the window. I like CHMG enough. I don\’t agree with him, but I\’m sure people here would laugh at the amount of money I\’ve dumped into an AMC Matador or the insane amount of money I burned when I was addicted to Diesel pulling. There\’s room in the BS world for every gearhead nut job.
