Corner Carving Wallet Basher: Meet The New Lamborghini SCV12 – A Track Monster By Any Measure

(By Tom Lohnes) – Lamborghini, a company behind the screaming, V12 powered supercars and racecars, have finally brought you something different. Oh wait, no they didn’t. Meet the Lamborghini SCV12, an 830 horsepower, V12 powered monster.

The newest addition to the Lamborghini V12 family followed by the Sian FXP-37 and Aventador SVJ is a legit race car. Like the Ferrari XX program, Lamborghini keeps your SCV12 for you until you want to use it on a racetrack because this beast is not even close to being street legal.

Part of that reason, of course is the straight pipes jutting out of the back of this Lambo that will be sure to deafen anyone in a 30-foot radius. There is no speedometer but 0-60 happens in 2.6 seconds and the 6.5-liter V12 is sure to get under 10 MPG on the race gas it runs on.

Surprisingly, the Lamborghini SCV12 isn’t actually in a class of its own on the race track. Competing with the Ferrari 488 Challenge and Mclaren 720S GT3, the Lambo is the current top dog on the food chain of supercar-derived racecars.

The SCV12 is already sold out. To even qualify to order one, you would have to pay $2.2 million on top of having ownership of both the Huracan EVO and Aventador SVJ supercars, AND a Urus SUV. Better get to saving.

I’d say that a purely track oriented car IS a bit of a departure from Lamborghini’s street oriented vehicles. It’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up.
