Own It! This 1976 Greenwood Corvette Sport Wagon Is For Sale – Four Seater Freak!

If there is one thing that the Corvettes bearing John Greenwood’s name never lacked for it was panache. Sure they may have been saddled with the same crummy engines that all of the other Corvettes had but they sure as hell looked more interesting and we’d argue none were more “interesting” looking than the oft talked about a seldom actually seen Greenwood Corvette Sport Wagon model. Well as luck would have it, a 1976 edition has come up for sale on eBay and not as some collection of random parts but rather as a fully functioning car. Yes, it has its fair share of dings and cracks, but the car is whole and driven by the current owner on a seemingly regular basis.

We never met John Greenwood but if this car’s design was his brainchild we bet he was a hell of a guy to sit down and drink beer with. From front to back, there are about a million different things done with the body from the tilt nose, flared fenders with the molded in chin spoiler, fake brake duct/heat extractor on the front fender, cowl hood, Ferrari-esque styling treatment on the doors, side pipes, the “wagon” roof with Vista Cruiser style windows, huge rear wing, and finally the addition of a third tail light on both sides of the car’s rear. Other than that, just like it was delivered from the factory.

Of course the biggest change that came to pass in the Sport Wagon was the addition of the rear seats. We are pretty sure than anyone over the age of about nine would have to fold themselves up like a pretzel to get in and out but they are there. The interior was likely really cool in 1976 and is now beyond hideous. It looks like something that was barfed out of a 1980s conversion van.

So let’s say you bought this car. How would you do it? Would you restore it back to 100% factory glory? Would you make a pro touring rig out of it? Would you make a pro street cruiser out of it? Would you modify it with a thermite grenade and a flame thrower? You tell us!

just change the interior — check the engine , make sure it’s road worthy, and take a cross country trip with the luggage in the wagon. love wagons- I own a 56 PontiacSafari and a 64 Corvette coupe.– this could be their love child—

No way is that back seat functional, even if you’re Lt. Dan. C3s are pretty tight on the inside in all dimensions. All but sitting on the floor and my head nearly hits the ceiling, leg room is okay, but a bit narrow. Shoulder room is tight too, but that’s why the windows go down.
