(Images By RideTech Mike and RideTech Amanda) – It was another barn burner of an Optima Ultimate Street Car Association Event and this time the action was happening at Michigan International Speedway. Chad was there along with a group of unique, interesting, and bad ass fast street cars from all over the country. As the USCA tour has marched across the country this year we have seen each region highlight certain types of cars and true to form the Michiganders showed up in force with unique and highly crafted iron. Michigan is probably the hardest core gearhead state in the Union. We’re not kidding. You can get all wrapped up in the negative stories if you want but if you spend any time around the Detroit area or virtually anywhere else in the state you’ll be blown away with the number of firms that specialize in engineering, manufacturing, prototyping, and other forms of creative mechanical endeavor that advance technology. It is mind blowing and it took me a trip to the Detroit area over the winter to understand that.
As you will see in these photos, this event had all the hallmarks of a normal USCA gathering. Hot laps on a massive and pro level road course, the speed stop challenge which combines a high speed launch, cornering agility, and the ability to drive into a broom closet at high speed and stop before knocking down the wall and of course the RideTech autocross. From wildly high tech imports to thundering pickup trucks and all the classic muscle you can wrap your head around, this was a great and diverse field which streaked through all portions of the event. We’ve got to thank RideTech Mike and RideTech Amanda for providing these great images from the race!
