Running This Honda Powered Go Kart On Ice Looks Like High Speed Fun!

Well this thing is just awesome. A man-sized go kart with a Honda Interceptor V4 engine that makes about 100hp, a six speed transmission, full suspension, and all the robust quality you can get when a guy who knows what he is doing builds something, this kart looks like fun, especially on a massive frozen lake. Ice has provided a good surface for being speedy for as long as people have wanted to be speedy. Henry Ford set speed records on frozen lakes, Sammy Miller went 250mph in a rocket contraption on a frozen lake, guys all over cold climate areas enjoy ice racing, and in Nordic countries they host massive ice racing and speed events year after year. That’s for those of you that think it is nutty to be driving something on a frozen lake.

We love the way that this thing sounds and how it works. The thin layer of snow on top of the ice gives the studded tires just enough of something to hold onto to long and fun drifts can be achieved. You will see a couple of “fly-bys” that are done are legitimately big speeds. In reading more about this build, the guy who constructed it still has the kart and it is street legal and driven. In fact,t he YouTube channel that we found this video on features some of the guy’s other projects and he’s awesome.

From buying a burned up Case loader and completely field stripping and rebuilding the thing better than factory to some neat DIY tips and ideas, this guy is BangShifty to his core. Check out the video below. You’ll love it!
