As a guy who knows little about the motorcycling world in general, I do know that a Honda Gold Wing is not exactly considered a performance machine. Now, I know it was not necessarily designed to be one. Those huge bikes are meant to get a couple of people over long distances in maximum comfort, not rip a drag strip or allow the rider to drag a knee through the corners. That’s what makes this scrambler bike that a dude made out of a Gold Wing so good. This is like the two wheel version of the famed “Caddy Hack” story in Hot Rod Magazine or even like the Roadkill Vette Cart.
If there is a cooler version of mechanical addition by subtraction that you have seen lately we sure want to hear about it. We know that this thing is freaking awesome because the seller claims that it can cruise down the road with good speed and that it can also hammer dirt roads and the wilderness in general like a good, old school scrambler could.
Lots of win here, people. LOTS.
In case the ad disappears, here’s the text:
This bike is an absolute blast! Does 80 on the highway all day, but handles dirt and gravel roads like a champ. I just rode it on a 20 mile off-road poker run a couple of weekends ago at Rattlers Run. Shorty pipes sound incredible at higher rpms. Bike is registered and titled.
Tires, timing belts, and water pump have less than 500 miles on them. People love this bike! Everywhere I go people want to check it out and take pictures.
I am not desperate to sell at all. Just have other projects that could use the cash
If you want a bike that is a blast to ride, and completely unique, then your search is over.
Bike is in Plains Montana, 2 hours east of CDA. I come to CDA often, and could deliver if the purchaser didn’t want to ride over the pass.
Lovely!
But it certainly would be a killer if it fell on you taking a tight corner with all that weight.
Actually, when the wing came out, it had no fairing on it–and it was one of the quickest bikes that year. (1975?)
