We always talk about how we dig the Aussie Supercar series around here but the long story is that we don’t know a whole lot about the series outside of the fact that the cars make good noise and they really fly. We love that they had to start as something off the line before being modified all to kingdom’s come before hitting the track. Kelly Racing is one of the largest and most successful Aussie Supercar teams, fielding four cars at the sport’s highest level. This video takes us into their shop and it is a legit eye opener.

This is full-scale, pull out the stops, let it all hang out professional racing. We see the different areas of the shop from the engine building area (these guys use Nissan V8s as their plants for the Altimas that they race).

We’d compare this operation to a smaller version of a NASCAR Monster Energy series shop. The place is squeaky clean, there are people building stuff and making stuff everywhere, and it is busy. Kelly Racing has 60 employees which includes the eace staff and support roles as well. That’s a big nut to pay every week in payroll!
