TUDOR United Sports Car Championship Coverage: A Photo Highlight Reel From The Recent Battle At Watkins Glen

TUDOR United Sports Car Championship Coverage: A Photo Highlight Reel From The Recent Battle At Watkins Glen

(Photos by David Hakim/HP2 Communications) – Last weekend, our buddy David Hakim attended the TUDOR United Racing Series event at Watkins Glen International Raceway in New York, one of the country’s oldest, coolest, and fastest road courses. David was there with credential so he got great access to the track, the pits, and virtually whatever else he wanted to jam his face into. He shot hundreds and hundreds of photos and when he asked if we would be interested in running a cut down highlight reel of said photos we were right on it with an affirmative answer. David sent us over 30+ of his favorite photos which capture action on the track, on pit road, and even in the garage where the real heavy wrenching takes place.

As you will see in this gallery, the Corvette team was well represented in both the GT class and in the prototype class as well. The screaming yellow Corvettes have been mixing it up with the “best” sports cars in the world for at least a decade now, maybe more on tracks all across this country and even abroad with their various successes at LeMans and other Euro tracks.

While we have yet to attend a TUDOOR United Sports Car Championship race yet, we have been to ALMS races and other sanctioned sports car races and they’re a hoot. Th environment is different than the drags for sure but it is a ton of fun and the venues that these races are held at will make you cry tears of joy for their history and beauty. “The Glen” is sure one of those places. We’ll stop rambling now so you can enjoy David Hakim’s great photos from this event.

When the Tudor URS was first announced I assumed it would be at least somewhat better than the two series it was replacing and that there’d be no way it could possibly be worse than the Rolex Series… which was a travesty .

Unfortunately on both counts I’ve been proven absolutely wrong ! IMSA of old it aint …. by a long shot ! More like an even lamer version of the Rolex with less competition , innovation or excitement .

    Which is to say ………zzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZ
