Whoops Video: Watch This Barracuda Plow Into The Chicane At The Goodwood Revival

The Goodwood Revival is an awesome event because it is a real race with a load of classes and hundreds of historic and awesome cars on the property. From old full-on race cars to machines like the production style iron you will see in this video, these guys are not driving up the hill at Lord Marsh’s house, they are pummeling their cars on a race track properly. Sometimes it isn’t just the cars that get the pummeling, occasionally it is the track barriers as well. As you will see, the driver of this Barracuda had major league problems entering the chicane on course and ended up bulldozing the barriers and actually skiing the car for a brief time. We’re not sure if the stuff inside the red-striped facade is tires or what, but it sure hammers the nose of the blue Barracuda by the time things are done.

We are guessing that this little Mopar has a 273ci small block as it is competing with the likes of the Alfa Romeos and Lotus Cortina models along with other small displacement stuff on the track. We’re not sure what caused the driver to get himself in this much trouble but it seems that the car takes an odd set when he is positioning himself for the corner. Maybe something in the braking system went wonky and pulled the thing off line or something?

We’re glad that these were not concrete walls because if so, that car would be destroyed. As it stands now, there is plenty of work to be done but it doesn’t seem that the thing is a total write-off or anything.

Racing is tough stuff, no matter the style, the vintage, or the horsepower. At the end of the day no matter what limits you are pushing, you can always step over the line.

Looked like the RH rear brake locked up as soon as he touched it.

Wasn’t as much carnage as usual this past year there. The Stig totaled an old Vette in a pretty ugly one.
