Now this is amazing. It is one thing to see a modern car hanging the tail out in the rain as a good driver works the wheel, it is wholly another to see one that’s like 100 years old getting after it in a downpour. That’s exactly what you are about to see here. A pre-war racer with tires about as wide as flooring plank on edge, a massive four cylinder engine making torque like a tug boat, and a driver having the time of their lives.
Sadly I have no idea what make this thing is or who is driving it, but they are a perfect match. These cars, when we have seen them driven in anger seem to require constant steering movement in corners because of the low levels grip they have in even the best of conditions, so in the rain it’s perhaps just a slower reacting, exaggerated version of that situation?
The best part of this video is the intentional nature of the driver. This is not someone who is just swatting bees to save their own ass. This is a driver who knows exactly what they’re doing and boy are they doing it well!
