Grandpa Pickup Alert! This 1986 F-150 Is The Most Old Man Perfect Truck In America

There’s nothing like finding an old man car or truck for sale. Why? Old guys take care of their stuff like no other group of people in the world. They treat recording the information on an oil change like getting access to the nuclear codes from the government. Old guys don’t stand for wear and tear, they actually do maintenance ahead of time rather than years late like the rest of us. Long story short, this 1986 F-150 is the most old man perfect truck in America.

The truck is perfect in every way. Yes, we hate the color and wish it were red, or black, or polka dotted rather than the baby blue that the original owner purchased it with. The 5.0L small block V8 has been rebuilt with an RV camshaft from Howard’s. That’ll help on the torque side some and give the old girl a little more shuffle than she had going into the rebuilt. The interior looks as though someone just installed it. There’s a little bit of bunching of fabric on the driver’s side indicating that someone has actually sat there but other than that this thing is greatness. My dad had a 1986 F-250 when I was a kid and seeing the interior in this truck had me right back in that Ford.

The truck comes with the build sheet, the owner’s manual, and basically documentation of anything ever happened to it. It also comes with stuff like a fresh fuel pump and other things that the seller took care of out of concern for regular use and reliability.

We know it is just a 31 year old bone stock truck but sometimes seeing something like this is just the right thing to make you smile. We’re in love!

Damn near identical to my grandpas truck, canopy and all. His had a 351W though. Good memories riding it that.

I see some great DD/cruiser potential here…If it were mine I would add some Ansen slots, lose the topper, replace the utility bumper with a standard chrome unit, add some decent tunes and maybe a little more go-fast stuff under-hood and drive the snot out of it…..I love the color too…The only thing that would make this rig ablsolute greatness is 4X4 and a manual.

My stepdad bought a cousin to this truck from the old guy next door and loved it for a couple more years. Now my Mom has it. Great rig, and Terry took literally perfect care of it for almost 30 years.

My stepdad has a \’94 GMC 1500 4×4 stepside. Probably 40k miles. Garaged. Perfect paint and interior and well, everything. Give it 15 more years and you have the same thing as this and Terry\’s old truck.
