It does not take much to stop me in my tracks. In fact, all it takes is something like this 3/4 ton 1955 Chevy truck that has a 283, NAPCO four wheel drive, and a look that I will love until the end of my natural days. Seriously, this thing is freaking awesome. When you add in the winch, the fact that the guy has cleared the body twice to preserve the patina, the reupholstered bench seat, the three sticks climbing through the floor, and the vintage Superlug tires, you kind of have the best thing in the world, right?

I know it is a less desirable long bed step side truck but that’s the look I prefer and it could be painted polka dots and I would not care if it had NAPCO four wheel drive under it. I’m so far in the tank on this one that I even love the massive Jay Leno chin winch bumper that is growing off the front of the truck. There’s a roof mounted spotlight as well which makes me wonder about what this thing did in the past. Obviously it was meant to go into some tough places with the 4×4 system and was it then designed to be looking for stuff or lighting the way for others? It would take some digging to figure that out.

Other stuff I dig about this truck? The fact that it was originally blue by the color of the firewall, the fact that it has a red interior, and the fact that it has a slightly rough exterior. I also love the fact that the bed floor’s wood was long ago replaced with a sheet of steel. Wood beds are cool but this truck for all of its attitude and anger needs a steel bottom bed.

It’s troubling how much I love this one. I think I may have to call the guy…what do you think?

I don’t mind a long-bed, step-side. Even moreso with one of these. I’d take it if you want to finance a project truck…?
