The world of pulling is honking along these days. Huge events around the country, multiple series, more and more grassroots participation from guys in street going trucks that eventually work their way up the ranks. While pulling is not front page news in many parts of the country, there are tens of thousands of people around the country who love it like their own kids. We often talk about the big multi-engine tractors but what about the trucks?
These things are works of art in their own right and machines like this one, the High Anxiety Chevrolet are leading the pack. This truck is being sold as a roller. It will need an engine, a clutch, and an MSD to light the mix. After looking at these photos it seems almost criminal to but something other than a Sonny Leonard semi-hemi in it, right? Look at how that mountain of aluminum and its upturned exhaust stacks just come through the hood like Everest!
This is a wonderful tube chassis that looks like it has been maintained at an amazing level. You could literally eat off of any surface on this rig. One of the interesting details is that the rear end is a 100% fabricated piece made of sheetmetal and the front end is a highly modified axle from a military truck. Neat!
The rest of the truck outside of the power plant is basically here. All the stuff, spare gear sets, and on and on. If you want to go pulling and do it in style, this right here is the ticket!
$100 K for a new Sonny engine. quite a machine .
