(By Tom Lohnes) – The Ford Bronco has received some tweaks for 2022, and they only make it better.
Starting with the big news, you can now get a manual transmission in the Bronco equipped with the Sasquatch package, which gives you 35-inch tires along with many other upgrades to help you out on the trail. The manual should’ve been standard on the Sasquatch anyways, since it is literally designed for off-roading with the crawler gear. Regardless, it is good to see the Bronco get better.
In terms of design changes, there aren’t any. But there is a new color available in the Form of Eruption green, which looks great and is my personal favorite color this SUV offers.
That’s about it for physical changes. But there is a slight price increase, which is not a great thing. The base, 2-door Bronco with the 2.3L Ecoboost and a manual starts at $29,300, a $900 bump over the 2021 model. The only price that is unchanged out of all Broncos is the absolute top-spec Wildtrak 4-door, which can be specced up to an eye-watering $67,730 with every option selected.
So, that’s the new Bronco. Not much has changed, but even some improvement is good when it comes to a relatively flawed vehicle like the Bronco. Prices start below $30,000, but with today’s climate good luck finding one under $50k, or even finding one at all.
“Form of Eruption green”? Who came up with that color name? It’s a good color, but a really weird name! Something like “Juniper Green” might make a bit more sense.
The color is just called Eruption green. A pretty cool name if you ask me!
