Real Power Video: Intake and Exhaust Upgrades On A V6 Jeep – What’s It Worth At The Wheels?

Real Power Video: Intake and Exhaust Upgrades On A V6 Jeep – What’s It Worth At The Wheels?

Normally when we’re talking about a video from the Horsepower Monster channel on YouTube it’s all about an engine build, a dyno test, or other stuff of that nature. Well, this one dies involve and engine and a dyno, but it’s a departure from the norm. What we’re going to see is the benefits realized by upgrading the air intake and the exhaust system on a V6 powered Jeep that had been lifted and given some larger wheels/tires. Obviously adding some more wheel and tire to an off-road rig is a way to make it more capable when the pavement ends. It does have some implications regarding the on-road performance, though.

The wheels and tires will effectively give you a taller gear ratio and in a vehicle like a Jeep which uses a V6 that isn’t the biggest torque making engine on the planet, it can make the vehicle feel more lazy on the street and you’ll find yourself in the pedal more. Simple bolt ons can give your rig some snap back and this is exactly the point of the video.

We know this is basic stuff but we really dig the before/after nature here. Getting good baseline pulls and then seeing real results is neat. There are few things more satisfying than being able to feel the different in your vehicle’s performance after a day in the garage.
