We love celebrating the real-guy heroic feats found at events like Drag Week, Sick Week, and others. People overcoming long odds to get a job done in a hard environment where it seems like all the elements are against them. It’s awesome to see that stuff go down. But what if that was just everyday life? It’s a valid question to think about when you watch this group of Pakistani truck mechanics pull a massive diesel V8 out of a Nissan heavy duty truck and rebuild it from soup to nuts basically on the side of the street. Never once is the engine or a worker inside. Never once is anything other than hand tools employed. Never once did we think, “these guys don’t know what they are doing?!”
The most impressive piece in the whole video is the crane they seemingly rent to pluck the engine out and to drop it back in. Th fact they just kind of stand the block up on end and do the work that was is wild, the fact that they seemingly have no issue running the sucker back to redline the second it is in the chassis and fired made us wince, but otherwise, these guys are as hardcore as it comes and it’s just the way they pay their bills.
Credit where it’s due. These guys can wrench.
