Project Henry’s Hot Rod Video Update: The World’s Quickest And Easiest Swap Is Complete

If there was one thing that has been bugging me since taking our little Ford N-series project tractor home it was the stack exhaust that someone had added over the years. Not pleasing to the eye, not pleasing to watch flop around and certainly not pleasing to have exhaust blasted in your face, it had to go. Thankfully you can literally walk into retail stores across America or you can mail order a factory N-series exhaust pipe for short money. In this first video update on the project we swap out the stack for the right factory exhaust and show you the difference in look, sound, and finish.

We’re pretty sure that there is not an easier exhaust job to complete in the mechanical world than this one!

Anyway, here’s our hater pipe delete program and as more parts and pieces arrive, we’ll be tackling more projects. The biggest upcoming fix will be a full brake job because the machine currently has absolutely no braking functionality. Why? The axle seals have given way over time and bathed the shoes in oil. We’ll fix the seals and get our stoppers on soon. We have other small fixes on the way as well and even a couple of upgrades. Stay tuned!

I know you took the time to install the correct exhaust , but please take the time and install a hanger off the end of the muffler to help support the weight . The added weight could possibly break the exhaust manifold at the clamp point. Maybe Freiburger could come over and put on some high temp Zip ties, I know your future plans for the V-8 may make this a moot point. Can’t wait to see the conversion. Rock On. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all

Dammit Brian, you’re making me want to get one. I am surprised that there is no support for the end of that pipe. Seems a lot of stress for that one clamp.

It needs a hanger clamp from under the footboard or it’s just gonna bounce around and stress the manifold joint till it leaks and maybe breaks off, plus, the whole thing could probably swivel around the way it is now. You should know that.

The stack exhaust might be good for not leaving a streak of flaming dry wheat field, or forest, or neighbor’s back yard.
