Who doesn’t love a good engine teardown? You are always on the lookout for interesting signs of past modifications, potential weak points, and the effects of run time on the internal parts and pieces involved. The latest Hagerty Redline Rebuild project is not as different or exotic as many of the engines in the past and potentially that is a good thing. Why? The fact of the matter is that this engine is a lot more relevant to a lot more people than some of the truly weirdo stuff we have enjoyed. The little Honda Trail 70 project was radical but small audience and that goes for the 1965 Mini engine as well. This time, loads of people can relate to this engine and this process.
In this video the engine gets torn down to the block and inspected along the way. How does it look? What needs more attention?
