Project Townado: The Cleveland Lands Back In The 1976 F-350 And The Truck Starts Coming Back Together

We have been having a blast watching the Full Boost YouTube channel Project Townado come back together. The 1976 Ford F-350 ramp truck was blown apart, the engine was torn down partially, the heads were swapped, fresh gaskets were installed, and back together it went with a fresh can a blue paint drenching it. This time we get to see the 351-Cleveland land back in the chassis of the truck and see the process of fitting all the accessories and stuff like the intercooler that will help cool the boosted charge when the rig is running again.

Outside of the under hood mechanical work, there’s all kinds of electrical stuff to deal with in this truck. The good thing is that there will be a massive upgrade in technology here so lots of the stuff that’s a rat’s next can be chopped out and replaced with brand new wiring.

This is a unique project mainly because (a) it is a right hand drive freaking F-350 (b) they are really not building the engine for all out performance, just a decent bump and (c) we have no idea what the “expansion” plans are for this thing. After it gets running and working will they build a more hairy engine for it? Will the guys take it on the Aussie Drag Challenge? The whole thing is just neat.

This is boostin’ on a budget and there’s not enough of that stuff happening out there right now. Not the “let’s make 1,000hp with $300 Chinese turbos” but rather, “let’s make a good engine a little better and have it live with a touch of boost rather than head gasket pushing pressure.”

Maybe we’re just getting old. We dig this project.
