The Precision Transmission channel on YouTube is one of the most awesome things ever. These guys are no-BS, they are knowledgable, and they do their work like the professionals that they are. In this video, that professionalism was put to the ultimate test when a customer showed up with a Ram truck that had fragged it’s billet, built, 48RE transmission. Now the thing that is so astonishing here is how the failure happened and in what manner it happened as to prevent the removal of the torque converter. We’re not talking a little struggle here. We’re talking dudes who are total professionals dealing with a situation that they’d never run into.
When you have three guys with bars, not little ones, working to get a converter off, you know there’s a problem. When you then resort to bars that are multiple feet in length and still get nowhere? Oh boy.
We’re not going to give away what they had to do in order to get the converter off, but they go to measures we didn’t actually know were needed…ever. Oh, and that’s multiple times over. THIS is wild.
