Short Block Build: Watch The 4.6L Hagerty Jeep Stroker Get The Foundation Built

When you build a house, you start with the foundation. When you build an engine, you start with the short block. Building the short block correctly, accurately, and with a high level of care and attention will absolutely determine the longterm worth and performance of your engine. If you have awesome heads and bolt them to a crummy short block, you’ve really got a pile of nothing going on.

In this video we see Davin do the assembly work (along with some good tips) for the 4.6L Jeep inline six stroker he is doing for the latest Hagerty Redline Rebuild series. The Jeep engine is not as sexy or as interesting as some of the other stuff they have done in the past but the reality is that is may be the most generally applicable to what people out there are actually doing. When the build stuff like a Buick straight eight it is cool, but pretty far afield for all but a few. This Jeep engine is one that makes a load of sense for any of the millions of Jeep owners out there. It’s perhaps the most budget friendly leap in displacement you can make with any engine of any family out there.

Here’s the short block build!
