(Photos by Don Carrick/Studio 413) – Ace photographer Don Carrick sent us a note the other day to alert us that both he and his lens were on hand at Maple Grove Raceway for the 2013 Keystone Diesel Truck Nationals last weekend. Carrick submitted an awesome gallery of 50 photos that I spent way too much time oogling. As you may expect, I love events like this because it really is a place where the working trucks of the world get dressed in their Sunday best, polished from tip to stern, and the majority of them get pounded on down the strip. If you think it stinks to wax your car, tell that to the guy who shows up at an event like this with a spotless 53′ long trailer!
Our old pal Leon Smith was there with his Kenworth dump truck making hay down the track and running as strong as ever. We see a couple of other familiar rigs that make the rounds at the famed events in Canada and around other parts of the country as well. The action on the strip includes virtually new trucks all the way back to some great looking B-model Macks and other classics.
I’m the resident truck freak here at BangShift and I can tell you that this gallery really rules, whether you are a dedicated truck lunatic like me or if you just like big shiny stuff getting used for the purpose it was built…to haul!
