Here’s a build that will certainly polarize the audience! A hot rod shop took a 1965 Chevy C10 truck cab, gave it a severe chop, ditched all the sheetmetal ahead of the cowl, greatly narrowed the grill, and added a kind of bustle back to the area behind the cab and they’re calling a 1965 C10 cab coup. Admittedly we have never seen anything like it and while our first reaction was to cringe a little, the more we looked at it the more interesting the thing got. We’re not sure you’ll have the same reaction as we did but we want to know what you’ll think.
Builds like this one are interesting because many of the same people who complain about the scene being stale will then show some sort of negative reaction when seeing something like this that is a complete departure from conventional thinking. The zoomie equipped small block Chevy engine produces a healthy amount of power and as you will see, it has more than enough gusto to melt the tires off the back of itself and have fun sliding around a parking lot.
Your turn readerville! Watch the video below and then tell us what you think in the comments below. Not that we need to tell you this but brutal honesty is encouraged!
Despite having been small block Chevy’d to death years ago, I liked this at first sight. Creativity at its best. Don’t need to see another Camero, Chevelle or for that matter Mustang ’till the next turn of the century.
I think it’s bad ass!! I really dig it!!
The satin/flat black and green frankenstein theme is getting a little played.
I’m trying to like it, but just can’t
Step away from the sawz-all and the wal-mart flat black spray bombs.
Did this guy do this ’63 Chevy as well?

Appleseed
You are incorret. The cab has been chopped, narrowed and channeled!
It’s more impressive than the video shows. Also this “elephant” won best engineered at Street Machine Nationals in Springfield MO.
Google Thom Taylor’s Trucksters drawings to see were he went wrong.
The comments from this guy on this are laughable at most. This guy wouldn’t know good design and engineering if he had it wrapped around his vagina. He needs to take the sawz all and do us all a favor and get a frontal lobotomy.
No Sir, I don’t like it….
Narrow and section that cab, and I’m in. Right know it’s an elephant on a rollerskate.
Yet another Chevy barf-mobile!
Geordie for once I have to agree!
This is one awesome ride!
In the end…..all the matters is if the owner likes it. Looks like it would be fun to raise some hell in. Doubt he’ll hear “my dad had one just like it when I was a kid”.
I’m convinced it’s totally badass. It comes down to perfect proportions.
For those who don’t like it, I’ll bet you probably like those S-10 chassis rat rods with a ’34 grille three feet out in front of the front tires like some character out of the Simpsons that has a a massive overbite. Those make me think of some redneck with huge buckteeth. Which is probly why you like em, ‘cuz they look like yo mamma.
I like* it!
*Assuming a good, useful pick-em-up truck didn’t give it’s life…
I like it, its nice to see something a little different. I think I might like it even
more if it had a shorty p/u bed.
Amen to calling out builders on lame colour choices. And why does it seem guys go out of their way to build uglylookatme rides to get noticed now?
I’d Semtex this thing direct to Cuba for the absolute sport of it, sorry builder………..
As the more “traditional” coupe and sedan bodies become more and more scarce and the ones that are available become more cost prohibitive, you’re going to see more of this kind of build. It’s not my personal “cup of tea”, but in order for the hobby to keep going with younger builders carrying on the tradition, I think we need to give them a pass.
