I really like old Jeeps because they are basically little tractors, right? They can do lots of stuff, they are simple, tough, and they very much have an Americana about them that nothing else on wheels has. While everyone loves the WWII Jeeps, it seems that fewer people are into the M38 A1 that was the primary Jeep of events like the Korean war and was made through the 1950s. About 101,000 of these were produced and the one I found for sale is a primo example of how neat they are. I dig the slightly more muscled looks of the M38 A1 with its more rounded and substantial fenders and hood. I like the increase in power from the Hurricane I-4 engine, and I like the fact that this was the CJ-5s more hardcore older brother.
This particular Jeep has a low opening bid and a claimed low reserve. The little machine is awesome in the fact that it’s aged and rough around the edges but it looks perfect for what we think of Jeeps to be. It has been used, likely abused a little, dented, dinged, and driven. If you are wanting to get into vintage Jeeps this could be your express ticket into that world and it seems like a solid piece that you would be able to tweak on while driving it.
The winch is awesome, the little seats are cool. The rear jump seat for the kids fits, and all we can see is cruising this thing on a warm summer night!
Izzat a Mahindra? Oh, my mistake.
Now this is a Jeep! Not the candy ass stuff they sell now.
