Mad Max: Fury Road – The Trailer Is Released And It Looks As Insane As You Hoped It Would Be

Mad Max: Fury Road – The Trailer Is Released And It Looks As Insane As You Hoped It Would Be

There’s something almost fun and cornball about the original Mad Max movies that were made for like $14.00 and a Vegamite sandwich in Australia. Campy, a little weird, and full of wild sets and vehicles, the movies quickly gained a cult following which then morphed into mainstream acceptance. Anyone with a brain had to think that the new Mad Max film would not hold true to the el cheapo roots of the original and it doesn’t. This is blow up, smash up, bloody action from jump street and the effects along with the physical wreckage looks just about unparalleled as compared to anything we have seen in recent years.

The vehicles take “post apocalyptic” to another level and include everything from muscle cars with tracks, monster trucks with vintage bodies, and big rigs that look to have been built by satan himself. We’re probably going to have to see this one just because of all the different iron that’s on display. The plot sure looks heavy with our hero apparently being captured and tortured by the bad guys. To see our man strapped to the front of a charging truck doesn’t exactly look like the feel good hit of the summer. This is Mad Max: Fury Road!

Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think. Worth it to see the cars and trucks? Too bloody? Just plain crap? Epic filmmaking? You tell us!

I have a good feeling about this one. Most sequels can’t live up to the original, but in this case the original wasn’t that great (admit it, it was pretty disjointed) so the bar isn’t set too high for this movie to be better. I’m happy with the look of the cars, for the most part they seem grounded in post-apocalyptic reality.
