The Old Backwards Monster Truck Jump Trick: Watch Black Stallion Get it Done (Kind Of)

The Old Backwards Monster Truck Jump Trick: Watch Black Stallion Get it Done (Kind Of)

Monster trucks have been doing wacky stuff for years and years. It only took a little while for the general public to tire of simply seeing the trucks crush cars. Then they started racing side by side drag race style, then they started racing on twisty courses with obstacles and ultimately the idea of “free style” came into play where trucks were allowed to roam the course in whatever fashion they wanted to leap and destroy all the stuff in their path. Fun. But even that isn’t enough for some people and long time monster truck racer Mike Vaders is in that group. We got tipped off to this video from 2002 by reader Charles Wagner and it shows Vaders pulling (kind of) a reverse jump OVER another monster truck.

The video was taken at the giant 4Wheel Jamboree that was held (and may still be held) at the Bloomsburg PA fairgrounds every year. There’s mud bogging and tuff trucks and there were monster trucks for years and years. You can see the crowd that was on hand to watch this mania, the people were everywhere.

We took the video and skipped you to the point where Vaders is lining the truck up with the kicker style dirt ramp he’s going to use to try and clear that clean looking OBS Ford bodied monster. We wonder if there was an agreement before this that Vaders would pay for any damage to the blue truck. Seems risky, right?

Vaders technically pulls this off but you will learn why monster trucks are more effective at jumping in a forward direction than a rearward one.
