(Photos by Charles Wickam) – Just when you thought it was safe to go outside, we’re back with more photos from the 2018 Texas Early Day Tractor and Engine Association State Show in Temple, Texas. Back with more cool tractors but maybe more importantly we’ve got some awesome vintage big rigs to show off as well. We knew Wickam would find the good stuff as he always has a knack for it and he delivers here. From the four wheel drive Ford tractor to the Macks, Kenworths, Peterbilts, and other trucks he spotted, the man found good, BangShifty stuff to enjoy.
While we’re not experts on the legacy of tractor collecting or its future, we have to believe that it will thrive for years and years. Why? Tractor enthusiasts have a love of not only the equipment but the work that their machines were designed to do. Many are farmers who see their restored tractors as family history preserved. Most tractor enthusiasts also see the machines as symbols of labor, success, and the history of America, further cementing their love of the machines. The same can be said for those who love old working trucks.
This is a great show and it was Texas sized!
