America’s Weirdest Truck Is For Sale – VTEC Swapped 1970 C60 Makes Our Soul Ache

America’s Weirdest Truck Is For Sale – VTEC Swapped 1970 C60 Makes Our Soul Ache

So hey, this wounds my soul. BangShifter Austin Irish found what has to be the most insanely wrong truck in America. This one hits way too close to home as it involves one of my favorite body styles of all time, the GM medium duty cabs of the later 1960s and early 1970s. My 1968 C50 tow truck is of this era and it is one of my favorite things which makes a VTEC swapped 1970 C60 all that much more impossible to look at. Seriously this thing is so whacked out I don’t know where to start.

So from the few photos that are on the Craigslist Ad, I can clearly see the cab is sitting down on what looks to be a Honda car or maybe a Honda SUV chassis. If I had to take a blind guess, I’d say that this cab had been dropped onto a Honda Pilot chassis which is probably the most robust thing that the company has produced before the Ridgeline “truck” that they make now.

The one under hood shot that we can see shows the strut front end and basically shows the fact that the firewall was cut our of the Chevy cab so it could be dropped down over the Honda firewall. Honestly, the depth of the Chevy firewall may have allowed for the stocker to be left intact.

There is one photo of the thing in a “rear 3/4” view and it is clear that the cab is on a Honda or at least some sort of FWD chassis. We don’t think that the insane maniac that built this would have swapped the Honda V6 into some other chassis. Ugh….

    Oh how the Chevy lovers are gnashing their teeth!

    Unfortunately the sight of any car does not make MY soul ache as there are many dark and dangerous entities out there that are quite capable of doing that – if you are not well protected that is!

    Well as proud as I am that my tip made it to you guys I am just as appalled at this travesty as you are!!

    I am definitely going to have to redeem myself with some sweet rust free iron that you can still find for cheap out here in the wild west!

    I have a 1941 Ford business coupe for sale and I had a buyer with cash in hand so the guy starts telling me what he is going to do with my old friend. He stated he was going to graft a 4 banger fwd onto the old Ford, I got sick to my stomach, then I got mad I then told the guy not with this one and told the guy it was time to go somewhere else that I would find a good home for my car. I\’m old and in bad health and there isn\’t much chance of me finishing another big project . I have been a major fan of old 30s and 40s coupes since I was a small kid and I consider my cars as friends more loyal than family and I hope I can find a young street rodder wanting a unique ride.

      @ken walker….Only 2 ways to do a \’41 coupe…restored or \’50\’s custom. I lean towards the \’50\’s custom from a restored car.

      Good for you. I wish more people would do that. Where are you located. My son wants a project car. He hears all the stories of all the cars I built before him when I had a shop and wants to build one together now.
