My favorite competitive beast of burden is a pro stock semi pulling truck. Why? They look all the world like over the road trucks and have immense power, cool names, and many of them have enough chassis flex to be really fun to watch when the engine is working at peak power. This video is a perfect illustration of why I love these big trucks so much. For starters, look at it. The truck has a feel to it which is all about power and when you see it work, you’ll understand my love.
As soon as the driver winds up the turbos and starts to let the clutch out, the front wheel on the driver’s side immediately lifts off the ground due to chassis flex. That’s not the coolest part. The coolest part is the fact that it stays up there for the length of the pull. I have posted videos of the loaded trucks drag racing in Canada and they pull the front wheel but set it back down. This guy never gives it back until the beast can move the sled no more.
Not being an expert by any means, I think the guy got the setup about dead nuts right for this track. The run is super smooth and the truck seems to be working in peak condition. If you have ever looked at a big rig frame, this video will be pretty amazing to you. All that huge steel twisting and groaning under the power of the truck. That’s the stuff, kids!
