The world of rock bouncing is quickly becoming a huge part of the off roading scene. Think of it like the small tire classes of drag racing. These are wild creations that use all kinds of suspension and drivetrain technology and employ it to scale obstacles mountain goats look at and refuse to climb. One of the more infamous hills that these guys try to ram, smash, and claw their way up is called Cable Hill and you are about to see what happens when you almost make it to the top and don’t make it over. Cable Hill is found at the Gray Rock ORV park which is located in Gardendale, Alabama and it draws out the heaviest hitters in the rock bouncing/rock buggy world to get after it.

In this case the John Deere buggy known as “Plowboy” and driven by Rich Keith is the machine that goes for a violent ride for the ages when he smashes his way to the top of the hill and instead of his machine clawing over the top, it shifts to the site, nearly wipes out the camera guy, and goes into a free fall down the hill. Keith looks to be OK but the way he is reaching around the cockpit seems to indicate he got his bell rung pretty good while suffering the multiple impacts he did on the way down the hill. Plowboy ends up on its wheels at the conclusion of the disaster but it looks like the axle is askew. It is shown driving off the trail, which seems like an impossibility when you see what it suffers through. The miles of steel tubing protect Keith like a cocoon.

This is like a human version of the egg drop challenge your kids do at school. You know, the one where you build something to keep the egg from busting when you chuck it off the roof of the school.
