Consistently sleeping at the tree! Need to practice more. That's no way to win bracket races.

Thanks! Why can't you? Hit it harder! There is nothing special about my car. My neighbor blew the head gasket on his on the Dyno the other week. I don't want to have to take the engine apart or out this year. And I think my clutch is already slipping. If I do turn it up (any time soon) it will just be hair right at the top.

          • It's been 7.60's @ 95+ on 8.5psi with 1.9x 60 foots. Remember we are running an AOD now. I figure we will get there, just have not had an opportunity to play with the 2 step at the track.

            • Your car so far is quicker and faster than mine. The 60' is all in the weight of the flywheel and the 3.35x4.11 starting line ratio. I have never had a hotrod auto. I assume they are made by the converter.

              • Man I have been slack on the updates. I removed the front exit exhaust and built an "A-pipe" out of the stock H. The exhaust is quite now. The squeaks rattles and gear / bearing whine now fill your ears.

Last week I put a new starter solenoid on it so far so good. Trailered the car to Galot last Thursday got 5 runs before the rain came it.

First pass:forgot to hit the fog light switch that powers the Mac valve. 2-3 psi BOO!

Second pass: Close to the target 6psi, it was over shooting with the front exit by about 2psi. Was hoping it would be faster.

Third pas: Add a pound to the upper end of the target table boost by RPM, better.

Fourth pass: I think I added another half, don't recall. Anyway it hit boost cut, what a party pooper.

Last pass : only pass of the night I had a car in the other lane I think it was a late model KIA? I raised the boost cut and keep everything else the same.

Had a good time. Need to figure out if I can have the boost controller turn back on after hitting cut. I have a curve to bring the boost in, I think it's pretty soft. I would like to hit it a little harder in the mid range, but I don't know if that's a good idea how much do you think it will take a 4000 RPM? Thinking that is around peak torque I keep it lower but that about where the motor bogs to so a little more there might pick up some ET.

The A/C is not working I think it's electrical. The pressure sensor is closed but the compressor is not engaging.

There is a bracket Race coming up I hope make. If I can cut a light and row the gears I think I have a chance at not being a first round duck. It ran a 8.08 (last) and 8.06 (third)

                • Been driving the mustang some. Kids ask to take it. Take it to work once a week or so. Yesterday was my monthly track trip. Truck had a bunch of JP's stuff in the back so towing was out. I had been running on the 28" bias. I bolted the 275/50/15 (26" drag radials) to the back and drove it to the track. It seems like I am always rushed and skip steps that would help. Before the first two passes I didn't check the Holley to see if the data logging was working. So I didn't learn why it was slow. Resetting the clock seems to fix the data logger. Third pass it was plan as day I turned up the target boost and it was hitting the safety in first gear so it was running waste gate (2-3psi) for most of the run
I Pulled the extra boost out of the target and upped the safety a little. Should have left it alone and dialed in. But I also wanted to run a number. I write 8.15 on the window. Have the other guys cover by a mile in a 1/8 mile race and don't dump enough and break out. Got one more pass left everything alone and ran an 8.01 best pass sense the full exhaust on the Turbo. (It ran 7.90 with a front dump)

I need to flush the radiator it runs warm with the A/C on or at 75+ I wish I would have left more clearance on the exhaust it rattles on the body. All in all I have been enjoying the car.

                    • Went back to the track. Test passes 8.08, 8.06, 8.01 none had a good RT. Round one. Dial in 8.01 .05 light. I look in the mirror guy is coming but I think I have him covered. Slam on brakes front lock up, and still brake out by .0109 second. Still looking for the silver lining.

any advice from bracket racers is welcome.

                      • I was ill about the breakout. Silver lining: got to spend the evening at the track with friends. Car drove on the trailer. Truck/trailer made it to the house without trouble.

Lol, send me an engine, new wiring harness, T56, driveshaft. I assume it will be faster, but not so sure it will be more consistent.
