Here’s a little newsflash for you. 10 year old kids suck at driving. This fact was further reinforced by the actions of a little guy in England recently when he got into an argument with his foster parents, stole their car, nearly wiped out a Chinese food restaurant, and then finally buried the Suzuki junk pile into a tree. It takes some serious gonads to steal anyone’s car, especially when you are so young that you physically cannot see over the steering wheel. Things went as you would expect.
After making his daring escape, the 10 year old reportedly began swerving and driving wildly. According to reports, he nearly crashed into a restaurant, missed pedestrians by “millimeters” and then drove the car into a tree while negotiating a “roundabout” which most grown adults also cannot negotiate with any skill or reason. The bad news for the kid is that in England, at 10 years old you can be held criminally responsible for stuff like this. The plucky little guy could end up in the klink!
We’re able to laugh about this because no one was killed and the kid was OK. It obviously could have been far worse if the driver had gotten into that Chinese restaurant, or ran someone over who was crossing the road and minding their own business. We know one thing, our keys are going on a high hook from now on. With a couple of little guys running around the house, we don’t want them getting any big ideas!
