(Photos by Joe Grippo) – While we love the world of nostalgia drag racing, there is something to be said for a nostalgia race held at a track with legit history. Maple Grove Raceway is one of those places and the 2018 Glory Days Drags at Maple Grove Raceway were a blast. There are so many historic cars from the PA area that people have preserved that it makes the event more of a reunion than just a race. Old timers who have not raced in forever come to hang out with friends and younger nostalgia enthusiasts are able to experience what the sport was like during the years of its growth.

The track had a compliment of funny cars on hand to really spice up the action along with the show cars, sportsman races, and exhibition action that the event has long been known for. To us, nostalgia drag racing is not about living in the past as much as it is about honoring it and the people who came before us. Maple Grove is one of the great legacy drag strips in the nation and it continues to pack itself with fans year after year for the NHRA national event among other races. With Bill Bader Jr. overseeing the managerial end of things with his consulting group now, it’s an exciting time at the old Reading, PA drag plant.
