Dyno Quickie Fun: Watch This 355ci SBC Powered Street Stock Sing To 7,000 RPM and Get The Demon Tweak

If this video doesn’t illustrate the difference a dyno session or two can make for your racing program, we’re not sure what will. You are about to see a 355ci small block Chevy powered street stock style race car making a couple of dyno rips. These engines are pretty limited in allowed modifications but this one has a solid roller cam and likely every other trick in th stock car engine builder book applied. That’s why it was weird this car was so pokey when the guys tuned it themselves before heading to the dyno.

As you will hear, the engine sings cleanly up to 7,000 RPM, it sports a new carb, and it was not making anywhere near the power that they expected. As you’d guess, jetting is a central chat here but there is one other hidden element that gets talked about which makes us wonder how many others across racing and hot rodding are losing power because of.

It’s a small issue that takes a trained eye to find or takes a less trained eye a lot of money, goose chasing, and frustration before they say…what?! That?!

Fun stuff and a cool car here.
