Boy this is shaping up to be some year in the NHRA Nitro Funny Car class. We dropped you a line when Bob Tasca III snared his first win a couple weeks back, but now another one of the young racers in the class has grabbed a victory, this is the second of her career.

We’re not excluding the other classes on purpose, it’s just that the same old people are winning everywhere else, but Funny Car has been a potpourri of coolness thus far in 2009.

Ironically, it was Jack Beckman, the racer she vanquished in the final, who taught Ashley to drive a race car, a Super Comp dragster to be exact, more than 10 years ago at the Frank Hawley school. The win came in her sixth ever final round appearance.

Like we said, it’s been a neat year so far and things are just getting heated up.

Did we mention that she’s incredibly hot too?
