Well that didn’t take long. 2009 Cobra Jet Mustang number 26 is up for sale on eBay for a starting bid of $100,000.
The car is being sold by an Ohio exotic car dealer and we’re keenly interested to see where this auction ends up. Hopefully it goes to someone who will actually race it instead of putting it in a hermetically sealed bubble somewhere.
These cars are runners, as John Calvert proved when he won Stock Eliminator at the 2009 NHRA Winternationals. To our knowledge this is the first one of the cars to hit the public auction block, unless you count the prototype sold at Barrett-Jackson.
Hard core Ford fanatics have to be monitoring this auction with baited breath. We have few doubts that the car will be sold. The only question is how much?
