BangShift Poll: Is the Forthcoming V6 EcoBoost Powered Mustang Cool?

Yesterday, Bill Ford leaked the fact that Ford will be coming out with a version of the Mustang powered by the EcoBoost V6. We’re not sure if that car will be badged as an SVT model, or how it will fall into the lineup. We do know that it will haul some ass. Most likely it will be rated in the 350hp and 400 lb/ft range. That being said, is it cool? Sure the SVO Mustangs of ages back had a uniqueness to them with a turbo four motor, but they were more about providing a “balanced” car for buyers who appreciated all aspects of a sporty car.

We’re not shooting at the SVO, but it would be impossible to draw a line between an SVO and an EcoBoost model that made more than 100hp more. This thing will be a terror on both the strip and the road course. F-150 trucks with this engine can run 14.60s on the strip, so this car would be canyon deep into the 13s.

Many people still think that the only performance Mustang is one that carries a V8 up front. We’re interested to see what BangShift readers think. Have we evolved in our acceptance of modern tech to the point that a twin turbo V6 ‘Stang is cool, or does the sweetest song of a V8 still ring true as the only legit performance version of a Mustang? Vote below!
