BangShift Question of the Day: What’s the Best Car Stunt You’ve Ever Seen?

BangShift Question of the Day: What’s the Best Car Stunt You’ve Ever Seen?

Back in the early 1980s, we saw the Joie Chitwood stunt show for the first time and were immediately convinced that we were watching the greatest automotive spectacle ever. That’s saying something for the performance because the drivers were all in suck-bag early 1980s GM cars, including Chevettes! It really stuck with us for years, especially the stunt they did with the car up on two wheels and a man standing on the skyward side.

We’ve seen motorcycle and car jumps since then and they all have their own elements of awesome but that first experience really set the hook for us. Benny the Bomb, the dude who has been blowing himself up inside cars for decadades is an interesting side shoot to the automotive stunt world, although he’s not driving anything other than a detonater button.

After watching Ken Carter’s ill fated mission to fly a car over the St Lawrence River, we figured you are thinking about cool car stunts you saw in your past as well, maybe you are thinking about some of the unsanctioned ones you were involved in personally!

Question of the day: What is the coolest automotive stunt you have ever seen?

    The ASTRO SPIRAL.
First done in the ASTRO Dome with an AMC
car. There was an article in Car and Driver about the stunt.
Seen world wide in the James Bond movies.
They do a bridge to bridge jump with the sherrif in the car.
It is not CGI it was real.
