If you are a drag racing fiend, Beaver Springs Dragway should be on your personal bucket list of tracks to visit. Easily one of the coolest drag strips in the country, the place is retro-awesome to a power of 10. Run by legendary promoter “Beaver Bob” McCardle (who actually lives on the strip property!) the track hosts lots of cool events. Hell, the strip action for the big York US30 Reunion happens at Beaver Springs every year!
Doug Garrison was on hand a couple weeks back to take in the track’s Flashback Friday event which featured nostalgia super stockers, outlaw street cars, grudge racing action, and lots of fast, cool iron under the lights at Beaver Springs. We dig this gallery because you can nearly smell the tire smoke, feel the hot summer night air, and hear the motors winding up off the line.

Unrelated to the post other than the location… I’ve been there with the Subaru group. We went for a drag day, and it ended up raining. They still ran us down the track, but just for 1/8ths. The one moment where we all realized it was good to have AWD at a drag strip… LOL
We were there that weekend with the Bounty Hunters car. Got into the semis on Friday and won on Saturday night. Good weekend for the Bob Banning Dodge team.
