Last weekend we walked into a local car show and spotted a nice looking S10 with wheelie bars on it. Just as we were about to snicker to ourselves we noticed the 500ci Cadillac engine mounted in the bed and equipped with zoomie pipes. Closer inspection revealed the engine to be hooked up to an Eldo transmission and the whole thing was cradled in a custom chassis. To say we were enthralled with this truck would be an understatement. It is the physical manifestation of a crazy idea someone actually saw through. More photos of the truck are below.
This truck is definitely the wildest machine we’ve seen at a local show in some time. There’s been some ugly kustoms, a couple tarted up late model cars, and at least one mini-van that looked like it drove down the tacky aisle at Autozone with the crap magnet on, but this truck was bizarre and awesome in the best of ways.
Easy question today!
What’s the coolest, weirdest, most original creation you’ve seen at a local car show lately?

Up at a car cruise in Freeland, Michigan at a golf course/ski hill called Apple Mountain. They have 3 or 4 really cool cruises throughout the summer with a couple hundred cars, One week a guy showed up with a newer, fairly stock looking Ford F-150 with a flippin’ jet engine strapped in the bed.
In Milwaukee a few years back, I walked by a green Corvair and suddenly applied my brakes when I saw under its front open hood a Viper V-10. To say the least, I was taken aback when the car’s owner said, “It’s a sleeper, all right.” What an understatement.
Last weekend saw a VW with a big block Chevy in the front! Also a 71 charger with two supercharges @ Musclepalooza
Local guy has a chopped 60’s Econoline pickup with a twin Paxton blown fe motor in the back hooked to a boat v-drive to run the back wheels!
We need to see pics of that, sounds awesome !!
Larry Larson had the 5-time HRM Drag Week winner (’66 Nova) at the Hartman Heritage cruise night in Independence MO last Saturday. Drove it to the cruise as well!
The WW 2 aircraft/ car at the Street Machine Nationals.
I used to own a rubber band powered Pinto.
Honda CRX with a helicopter motor on it was interesting.
1980’s Volvo wagon w/406 SBC. Complete with soccer mom bumper stickers, stock wheels and plenty of patina…
