BangShift Question Of The Day: How Petty Have You Gotten When It Comes To Parking?

BangShift Question Of The Day: How Petty Have You Gotten When It Comes To Parking?

The holiday season is creeping upon us and it seems like the perfect time to ask a question of you BangShifters. See, for the next two months, many of you will be out shopping. You will be shopping for foodstuffs so that family can gather around the table, quickly give thanks for what is truly important in life, and then move onto completely and utterly wrecking their summer diets and realizing just how thankful they are for the food coma that comes on right about the end of the third quarter of the football game on television. Then there is the shopping that has to be done for the next holiday, whatever you celebrate. You want to think that you’ve gone out on the day nobody should be out shopping, but news flash: even with the advent of online shopping and shipping, there will still be people in the stores clamoring for whatever they want and need. It won’t be pretty, no matter what.

I hate going out shopping between November 1st and December 24th with a passion. I could be driving a Smart car and I’d still suffer for parking spaces and would find myself blocked in by trucks no matter what I do. And it shouldn’t surprise you that I might be a bit of an ass when it comes down to parking lot antics. Let me find whatever I’ve driven to the store blocked in on one side by a Buick LeSabre driven by an early-bird special and a bro-dozer on the other. Do you think I wouldn’t put a couple of zip-ties on the driveshaft? I’ve thought about it, for sure. I’ve also thought about the kind of blunt note I’d leave as well.

Tis’ the season for some sincere anger management techniques. What do you do?

I don’t drive anything that’s new or shinny. So its no issue for me. But I see those penial extension owners sure do park funny .

Yeah, I too drive junk as a daily. Don’t care about a few (more) door dings. I do keep a pack of 36″ Panduit straps behind the seat just in case, you know what I mean?

It’s amazing how people avoid my POS ‘ 88 Ranger. Never a parking lot dent or door scuff. I have in the past, kicked a door in because some ass backed into my SHO and left his car tight against the front bumper. If the dumb shit would have pulled ahead I never would have noticed. Oh well. I also like to cut off valve stems. That way they can’t just pump it up, they have to change the tire.

I once encountered a Cadillac parked so it occupied two parking spaces – and parked a Dodge Colt in the half-space left on the driver’s side.

Until October 1st I drove a ratty P71 but got fed up with reattaching various and sundry parts due to terminal rust, now I’ve got an ’18 F150 and I’m paranoid as hell. I try to park at least a 1/4 mile from where I want to go when I’m out and about… as I see it I need the exercise. Or at least that’s the excuse I use :D.

I’m 73 years old and I park as far away from the front door as I can . Drives my wife CRAZY . When she is with me I drop her off at the front door, park and wait for her to come out , go get her and we are gone . do your heart good and park away and WALK .

Was going shooting one day, stopped at Walmart to pick up some ammo. Parked my 4 Runner dead even in the middle of my parking spot. When I came out, some asshat in a brand new Ram pickup parked so close to my driver’s door, I could only open it about a foot. I proceeded to slam my door into the side of that POS Ram as hard as I could, maybe a dozen times, putting a nice crease in it. Had to crawl through the passenger side to get in and leave. F#*k that asshole!

I’m glad I don’t live near any of you jerks with anger issues and no respect for the property of others.
