Taking body panels from one car and grafting them on another is not new, it has been going on forever. But for every one that turned out good there at least as many that are just okay, actually weird, or completely wrong. Maybe more. The ones that turn out sorta right are the ones that flummox me most. Cars like this 1969 Camaro bodied 1999 Corvette.
In the grand scheme of things, the 1999 Corvette is a great car on its own. It was LS Powered, is a C5 which means it has great suspension, and it was a huge improvement over the previous generation of Corvettes in virtually every way.
The 1969 Camaro on the other hand needs absolutely no introduction and is thought by many to be the finest Camaro ever built. It certainly is the most recognizable. To be completely transparent, I own a 1969 Camaro Convertible. It is the most important car in my life and is the one I consider THE ONE. So I am really critical of Camaros that are done wrong usually.
But back to this one. The Camaro came from Chevrolet with a 108 inch wheelbase. The C5 Corvette has a 104.5 inch wheelbase. It appears to me that the person who built this car has moved the front wheels back in the fenders, creating more from overhang than stock. The rear quarters appear to have the wheel wells in the stock location, but who knows with the photos included. I’m not a fan of some of the smaller things, like the exhaust, door handles, mirrors, and emblems, but other than those things it seems that this was done “Right”. The convertible top is clearly Camaro, not Corvette, which is good, and I guess the flip front end is what it is. But does doing this thing the right way make it okay?
For me, if I could live with the exterior, there is not way I could get past the interior. It just doesn’t fit or match or anything. Ugh. I’ll say mean things if I say anything at all. So I’m going to stop here and let you make your own decisions.
What do you think? Is this thing good or bad? Or bad or worse?

It’s not the most hideous body shop project I’ve ever seen, but just because you can do it, doesn’t mean you should. I don’t particularly care for this one.
Eliminate the Corvette emblems. The body looks sectioned which I like.
The wand shop in Harry Potter… “No, no, definitely not!”
Weird gets my vote.
It’s not terrible but not a fan of the tilt hood. Otherwise not bad.
Sure, there’s some areas it could use improvement – but the bodywork is surprisingly well done. Usually the result of combining parts to get a newer body on an older chassis comes out looking only slightly better than when Greek mythology combined parts from several animals to produce the Gorgons. This one works pretty well overall, with just some detail issues.
